OKLAHOMA CITY - Baylor was eliminated from the Big 12 Championship after a 7-2 loss against Oklahoma on Saturday morning at Bricktown Ballpark.

The Bears (44-14) finished the tournament 2-2 with a pair of wins against Kansas State and two losses to Oklahoma (38-21). Baylor is expected to be picked when host sites for the 2012 NCAA Baseball Championship are announced at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The complete 64-team bracket and top-8 national seeds will be revealed at 11 a.m. Monday on ESPNU.

"We were kind of punching it out there a little bit, and we didn't have a good day swinging" head coach Steve Smith said. "We were going to have to play extremely well today, and our pitching was going to have to be extremely good today to give us a chance to win this game and push it to another game."

Joey Hainsfurther (2-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 3.1 innings. The Bears lost for the first time with Hainsfurther starting on the mound, dropping to 5-1 in his starts.

Oklahoma jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three runs in the second inning on two doubles and a home run. The Sooners extended their lead to 4-0 when Matt Oberste hit his second home run of the day in the fourth inning.

Baylor nearly cut into the deficit in the third after Adam Toth and Logan Brown singled leading off the inning. One out later, Lawton Langford slapped a single into right field, but Toth was thrown out trying to score on a close play at the plate. OU starter Jonathan Gray then got Max Muncy to fly out to end the inning.

Josh Ludy broke the Baylor record for home runs in a Big 12 tournament by slugging his fourth of this year's event in the fourth inning, cutting Oklahoma's lead to 4-1, but the Sooners added three more runs in the fifth.

Ludy, the Big 12 leader with 13 home runs, 64 RBI and 19 multi-RBI games on the year, added a RBI single in the eighth inning to give the Bears their only other run. Nathan Orf extended his Big 12 record by being hit by a pitch for the 31st time this season and went 2-for-3 with one run scored.

Gray (8-4) picked up the win by pitching a career-long 7.2 innings. He allowed two runs on six hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Baylor relievers Kolt Browder, Brad Kuntz and Max Garner each worked a hitless inning to keep the Bears within striking distance, but reliever Kindle Ladd worked 1.1 shutout innings to close out the game.

The Bears were playing without a pair of starting outfielders in Logan Vick and Dan Evatt. Vick left Friday's game after fouling a ball off his knee, and Evatt is nursing a sore hamstring. Both are expected to be available next weekend.

"You come into (the tournament), you want to win it, but you also want to go home with who you came with," Smith said. "That was the most distressing thing about yesterday's game is losing Logan that late in a game that ultimately we've got it well in hand. Hopefully the next four or five days will be good for him, and the swelling will go down and he'll loosen up."

Though regional sites for the NCAA tournament won't be announced until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, tickets for the anticipated Waco Regional can be purchased in advance by clicking this link. All-session tickets are available for $15 (general admission), $25 (reserved) and $35 (box).
