COLLEGE STATION, Texas - For the second time this season the Battle of the Brazos came down the the final point, and for the second time, No. 6 Baylor (10-4) came out on top with a 12-11 win over No. 3 Texas A&M (8-3).

"I am so proud of the way we rode, specifically Western," head coach Ellen White said. "We really did a nice job staying composed and taking an early lead. This is going to be a big confidence boost for us going forward."

The Bears opened up with a 4-2 win in Fences, as Samantha Schaefer made her debut with a 90 for MVP. Lisa Goldman (88), Ashley Ann McGahee (81) and Kara Fergusson (76) each registered points, as BU scored the final two for the two-point advantage.

Baylor scored a huge 4-1 win in Horsemanship to take a commanding 8-3 lead. Chelse Retmier and Meghan Murphy each recorded 75.5's while Bryn Lindley (75) earned MVP and Ashley Garza (74) helped give BU the five-point lead.

Reining suffered a 4-2 loss to make it 10-7, as Olivia Rogers (71.5) and Shelbey Jackson (70.5) picked up the points.

With the Aggies needing three points for the tie, Baylor recorded a pair of points in Flat, and despite a 4-2 loss, the Bears pulled out the overall win. Taylor Brown's 75 led the way with Kim Woodsum's 72 helped give Baylor the match victory.

The sweep of the Aggies was the first since 2008-09 and gave the Texas A&M seniors just their second loss at home in their careers, with the only other loss coming to Baylor.

The Bears will next ride in the Big 12 Championship on March 30-31 in Manhattan, Kan.
