The No. 23 Baylor softball team (21-13, 2-3) will remain home to take on Kansas (16-21, 0-6) in a two-game series beginning on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and wrapping up Sunday at noon.

Saturday is Power In Pink Day, and the Lady Bears will show their support in the fight against breast cancer by wearing pink jerseys. Those jerseys will be auctioned off during Saturday and Sunday's game, with proceeds heading to the Susan G. Komen Fund. The first 250 fans will receive a free pink T-shirt, however, all fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.

Prior to Saturday's game, former All-American Chelsi Lake will be honored.

SCOUTING KANSAS
Still searching for its first Big 12 Conference win, Kansas' last eight contests have been versus top 20 teams. The Jayhawks are led offensively by freshman Rosie Hull's .400 batting average. She has six hits over the last five games. Fellow freshman Alex Jones is close behind hitting .356. Junior Brittany Hile has batted in a team-high 23 runs. In the pitching circle, junior Allie Clark owns a team-best 3.93 ERA. Senior Sara Vertelka has six wins from the circle to go along with a team-high 52 strikeouts.

SERIES
The Lady Bears and Jayhawks split a doubleheader last season, with Kansas winning the opener 7-3 and Baylor taking game two, 11-8. Kansas leads the overall series 22-15.

HOME SWEET HOME
BU is 9-4 in the confines of Getterman this season. As a whole, Big 12 teams are 117-25 (82 %) at home in 2010.

WHO'S THAT LADY?
The Lady Bears welcomed a new player to the team on April 7. Senior Courtney McFarlin has walked on to the team after head coach Glenn Moore was looking for added pitching depth after the season-ending injury to Whitney Canion. McFarlin, from Whitehouse, Texas, will wear #44.

WALKER SWINGING AGAIN
Kayce Walker found her groove again, going 7-for-15 (.467) with five stolen bases over her last five games. In her previous eight, the sophomore was 5-for-24 (.208).

REAL REPKA REEMERGES
Courtney Repka has been stellar in her last four appearances, going 2-2 with a 0.85 ERA, striking out 29 and allowing just four earned runs in 33.0 innings. Repka threw a 9.0 inning complete-game shutout on April 3 against Texas Tech, making it the first extra-inning shutout by a Baylor pitcher since Cristin Vitek did so against Central Florida on March 12, 2005.

CANION, WELDON DONE FOR SEASON
Baylor sophomore pitcher Whitney Canion will miss the rest of the 2010 season due to an increasing stress reaction in her left forearm. Canion, the 2009 Big 12 Freshman and Pitcher of the Year, was 5-3 with a 1.58 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 48.2 innings this season. Junior infielder Meagan Weldon will also miss the rest of the season with an injury after playing in seven games.

WESLEY'S €ˆMIRRORING EACH OTHER
Not only are twin sisters Tiffany and Nicole Wesley identical in physical appearance, but they are mirroring each other on the softball field. The duo rank first and second on the team in batting average and are a combined 33-for-33 in stolen bases. Nicole is first in the Big 12 with a .430 average, while Tiffany (hitting .360) is the team leader with 26 runs.

NIETEN WAS ALL SHE NEEDED
Maybe it was a change in the name, but Courtney Nieten (who was formerly Courtney Oberg until her wedding in December) has busted out and swung a hot bat. She is on a six-game hit streak and is second on the team with 24 RBI. In addition, she is 9-for-14 in RBI opportunities with runners on third and less than two outs, and is also hitting .389with two outs, proving she can come through in the clutch.

VANNATTA BREAKS €ˆOUT
Jordan Vannatta came into the season with one home run and 13 RBI in her career, as well as a batting average of .179. She has busted out this season, hitting .325 with five homers, seven doubles and 28 RBI.

CLOSE LOSSES
Of Baylor's 13 losses so far this season, six of them have come by one run, while two have been in extra innings. In addition, six losses have come to ranked teams.

TWO OUTS? NO €ˆPROBLEM
The Lady Bears have had a knack for scoring with two outs this season. Of the 162 RBI so far, 65 (40 percent) of them have come with two outs.

Tiffany Wesley'S ERRORLESS STREAK REACHES CENTURY
Senior left fielder Tiffany Wesley has gone 106-straight games without making an error (a program record), dating back to her last error on March 30, 2008 at Oklahoma State.

THIEVES
Baylor has stolen a conference-leading 94 bases this season, and entered the week ranked first in the country with a 2.76 stolen bases per game average, and is third in the country with 94 stolen bases.
