NORMAN, Okla. - Fresh off its first tournament win of the season, the Baylor women's golf team will head to the 2010 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship this weekend at the par-72, 6,327-yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.

The conference championship, which will be hosted by Oklahoma for the first time, will feature 18 holes each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring for the 2010 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship will be available at www.GolfStatResults.com.

Pairings for the first round will be No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 11 Kansas and No. 12 Kansas State starting on the first tee at 8 a.m. No. 7 Nebraska, No. 8 Missouri and No. 9 Colorado will follow at 8:50 a.m. On the 10th tee, No. 4 Baylor, No. 5 Texas Tech and No. 6 Iowa State will start at 8 a.m., followed by No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 Oklahoma State and No. 3 Texas at 8:50 a.m.

"Obviously coming off last week's win at home, we are going into the Big 12 Championship on a high note," Baylor head women's golf coach Sylvia Ferdon said. "I see a lot of confidence in our players. We're all business now. I thought this was a really good sign of letting (the BU Spring Invitational win) be history and focusing on the next event."

Baylor, which finished seventh at the 2009 Big 12 Championship, has finished third three times at the conference championship in 2001, 2005 and 2007. The Lady Bears have finished in the top five in each of their last four tournaments, including a victory at the Baylor Spring Invitational last week in Waco. Baylor has six top-five finishes this season - the most since the 2006-07 season (seven top-five finishes in 12 tournaments).

"We have won twice at Oklahoma in the last five years," Ferdon said. "The golf course seems to suit us and we have good memories from those wins. I think the main key for us being successful is to forget about all the extra stuff and get back to having fun."

Two upperclassmen will anchor the Lady Bears' young lineup in Norman. Senior Hannah Burke, a two-time All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Tournament Team selection, will be making her fourth Big 12 Championship appearance. Burke's 73.54 scoring average leads the Lady Bears, while the Herfordshire, England, native has carded a team-best 10 rounds of par or better this season.

"This is the lowest-scoring team I have coached in my career," Ferdon said. "I am proud of how they have fought back all year to move themselves up to a No. 4 seed in the Big 12 Championship."

Junior Lene Hafsten-Morch and sophomore Chelsey Cothran will make their second consecutive Big 12 Championship appearances. Cothran ranks second behind Burke with a 75.18 stroke average, while Hafsten-Morch is fourth on the team. Sophomore Jaclyn Jansen, who carded her career-first tournament win at the Baylor Spring Invitational, and freshman Karianne Hillaas will make their Big 12 Championship debuts this weekend in Norman.
