WACO - After falling 6-1 in the opener, the Baylor softball team (24-19, 4-8) had the tying run on second with two outs in the bottom of the seventh of game two, but fell 3-1 to No. 13 Oklahoma (34-10, 8-3) Wednesday night at Getterman Stadium. BU managed just five hits in the two games.

Game One
Back-to-back home runs in the top of the fifth broke open a 2-1 game and led the Sooners to the 6-1 victory.

Oklahoma took a 1-0 lead in the first after a line drive went in and out of the glove of a diving Kathy Shelton, allowing Brianna Turang to score from first. Courtney Repka limited the damage and kept it a one-run ballgame.

The Sooners added another in the third, as an errant throw to third on a pickoff attempt from Courtney Nieten went in to left field, allowing Chana'e Jones to score from third for a 2-0 lead.

Baylor pulled within one in the bottom of the third when Bree Hanafin led off getting hit by a pitch, and advanced to second on a single from Kayce Walker. A Nicole Wesley fielder's choice got Hanafin to third, and a groundout from Courtney Nieten scored her to make it 2-1.

A walk and a hit by pitch to lead off the fifth led to a Jessica Shults three-run home run to right field, making it 5-1. Lindsey Vandever followed with a homer of her own, to left field for a 6-1 lead.

The Lady Bears only managed two hits in the loss. Courtney Repka went 4.0 innings, allowed six runs, five earned, two walks and four strikeouts. Alicia Vasquez came in to throw three innings of solid relief, allowing one hit and one walk.

Game Two
Vandever's singled through the left side for an RBI, and a wild pitch from Repka scored Sallis for a 2-0 lead from OU in the fourth inning of game two.

With Oklahoma threatening in the sixth, a two-out grounder to second was bobbled to keep the inning alive. Haley Anderson delivered an RBI-single to score Shults for a 3-0 lead.

After leading off the game with a Walker single, BU was retired 18 times in a row before Nicole Wesley singled to lead off the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, Jordan Vannatta drew a walk, and Kathy Shelton finally got Baylor on the board with an RBI-double to right. Sydney Wilson came to the plate with a pair of runners in scoring position and fouled off a pair of pitches on a 1-2 count before being called out on strikes to end the game.

Repka (16-13) pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, three runs, one earned, two walks and five strikeouts.

The Lady Bears will remain at home to take on Iowa State in its final home conference weekend series, beginning on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
