WACO, Texas - The Kansas bullpen held the Baylor bats hitless over the last 11 innings, and the Jayhawks plated six unearned runs in the 14th inning to take a 12-6 win and capture the series win on Sunday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark.

Kansas (15-9, 2-1 Big 12) scored its first three runs in the 14th without the benefit of a hit. An error and two walks loaded the bases with one out, and Brandon Macias was hit by a pitch to bring in the game-winning run.

The Jayhawks added two more runs on two-out walks, then Jordan Dreiling knocked a two-run single and Jimmy Waters added a RBI single to put the game out of reach.

Kansas got out to an early lead for the third consecutive game. Robby Price's three-run double in the second gave KU a 4-0 lead, but the Bears answered an inning later.

Baylor (13-9, 1-3 Big 12) managed just seven hits in the game - all of which came in the third inning, when the Bears scored all six of their runs.

Brooks Pinckard got the scoring started when he drove in Landis Ware with a RBI single, Joey Hainsfurther cut the deficit to one with a two-run single, and Max Muncy put the Bears on top 6-4 with a three-run homer - his sixth of the season.

KU starter Brett Bollman got out of the inning, but turned the ball over to his bullpen to start the fourth. Four Kansas relievers combined to hold the Bears hitless the rest of the way, and the Jayhawks tied the game with two runs in the sixth.

BU starting pitcher Willie Kempf turned the game over to Jon Ringenberg after allowing four runs on five hits in 1.1 innings, and Ringenberg kept the Jayhawks off the board for his first 4.1 innings of work.

Price knocked a two-out, two-run single in the sixth to tie the game. Ringenberg allowed two runs on six hits in a career-long relief outing of 4.2 innings.

Josh Turley came on from the Baylor bullpen and kept the Jayhawks off the board over 3.0 shutout innings. He needed a little help from Pinckard, who threw a dart to home plate to nail Dreiling trying to score the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth.

Pinckard moved to the mound and worked 4.0 shutout innings in the longest outing of his career, but he ran out of gas in the 14th inning. He was saddled with a tough-luck loss after allowing four runs - all of which were unearned - on one hit in 4.1 innings.

Kansas reliever Brett Bochy (2-0) earned the win with 6.0 innings of perfect relief and four strikeouts.

Gedwed was the only Bear with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-3. Price led four Kansas players who had three hits, and he drove in six runs.

The Bears return to action on Friday when they head north for a three-game Big 12 Conference series against Missouri. Friday's game is slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch, while Saturday's game is at 2 p.m. and Sunday's finale starts at 1 p.m.
