WACO, Texas - Dan Evatt came around to score the game-winning run on a wild pitch as Baylor rallied from two runs down to knock off UTSA, 4-3, in a rain-shortened, seven-inning game on Wednesday night at Baylor Ballpark.

Baylor (12-7) used seven pitchers for an inning each in the win. Josh Turley (3-0) picked up the win, while Willie Kempf earned his first save since Feb. 28, 2009 against UCLA.

UTSA (9-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but the Bears got one run back in the bottom half of the inning, when Logan Vick singled and came around to score on Joey Hainsfurther's RBI single.

Vick extended his hitting streak to a career-best nine game, while Hainsfurther's hit gave him a career-long, seven-game hitting streak.

The Roadrunners built their lead to 3-1 with an unearned run in the top of the second, but that would be all the offense they could manage against the Baylor pitching staff.

Jon Ringenberg got the start for the Bears and allowed two runs - one of which was earned - in 1.0 inning, and Craig Fritsch allowed only an unearned run in 1.0 inning. Kolt Browder, Kevin Winter, Ross Speed, Turley and Kempf each worked 1.0 shutout inning in relief.

The seven Baylor pitchers combined to strike out 12 UTSA batters, while issuing just two walks and allowing only one earned run.

Vick homered with one out in the third inning to again cut the Roadrunners' lead to one, and Brooks Pinckard's first homer of the year tied the game at 3-3 in the fifth inning. Vick's home run gave him his eighth straight game with at least one RBI.

Pinckard's homer came against UTSA reliever D.D. Towler (1-3), who took the loss after allowing two runs in 1.1 innings.

Evatt walked with one out in the sixth, Tyler Collins moved him up to third with his third single of the game, and Towler's 1-0 pitch to Gregg Glime bounced to the backstop, allowing Evatt to scamper home with the winning run.

Kempf struck out the side in a scoreless seventh inning, and the rain started pouring down as the Bears headed to the dugout. After a 40-minute rain delay, the game was called.

Collins finished the night 3-for-3, while Hainsfurther went 2-for-3 with one RBI and Vick went 2-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run.

Ryan Rummel was the only Roadrunner with multiple hits. He finished 2-for-2 with a walk and UTSA's only two RBI.

Baylor returns to action at 3 p.m. Friday when it opens a three-game Big 12 Conference series with the Kansas Jayhawks.
