TUCSON, Ariz. - Baylor men's golf sophomore Joakim Mikkelsen, ranked 89th in the nation by Golfstat, owns a share of the lead through two rounds Wednesday of the National Invitational Tournament.

Mikkelsen (70-69=139) and TCU's Johan de Beer (68-71=139) are tied atop the leaderboard at 5-under 139 - one shot ahead of third-place Dylan Frittelli (73-67=140) of Texas. Colorado's Bryce Hanstad (74-68=142) and TCU's Travis Woolf (72-70=142) are three shots back of the leaders in a fifth-place tie.

TCU (286-283=569) is eight shots up on second-place and host Arizona (293-284=577). Seventh-ranked Texas (291-288=579) is 10 shots back in third place, while 50th-ranked Baylor (289-292=581) is 12 back in fourth overall. The Bears shot the second-lowest first round (289) of the day.

Mikkelsen carded back-to-back sub-par rounds, firing a 2-under 70 in the first round followed by a 3-under 69 in second set of 18 holes. The Drammen, Norway, native has now recorded 15 rounds of par or better and five rounds in the 60s. Mikkelsen's 5-under 139 is one stroke off his season-best 36-hole score.

Payne Gniewek (75-73=148) and Lorenzo Scotto (76-72=148) are tied for 26th overall at 4-over 148. Freshman Jerry Ruiz (72-78=150) is two shots behind Gniewek and Scotto in 39th place at 6-over. Austin Berkovsky (72-79=151) and individual Ryan O'Rear (78-73=151) concluded Wednesday in a tie for 45th at 7-over 151.
