COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Baylor women's golf team will participate in its second event of the fall Oct. 4-5 at the fourth annual Johnie Imes Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri.

The 54-hole tournament will be held at The Club at Old Hawthorne, a par-72, 6,204-yard course that opened in 2007. Monday will feature 36 holes of continuous play, beginning with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start. Tuesday's final round will also feature an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start.

Baylor is joined in the 15-team field by Colorado, FIU, Illinois State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Missouri State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Princeton, Texas State, UALR and Wisconsin. Live scoring for each round will be available online at www.GolfStatResults.com.

"Going to Missouri will be a great challenge for us as the Tigers are hosting the 2011 Big 12 Championship," head coach Sylvia Ferdon said. "I know The Club at Hawthorne is new and it will not play easy.

"This tournament gives our team an opportunity to play this course before the Big 12 Championship," Ferdon said.

Last month at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo., Baylor opened its 2010 season with a fifth-place finish.

"We will definitely have an additional challenge playing in more difficult weather conditions with wind and cooler temperatures," Ferdon said. "We look forward to the challenging conditions because we have the players that can handle the elements."

Baylor's lineup will include four of its five starters from last month's season opener at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. - seniors Lene Hafsten-Morch and Jordan Rhodes and juniors Jaclyn Jansen and Chelsey Cothran. Kaylin Terry, a true freshman from Austin, Texas, will make her collegiate debut in Missouri.

"I'm glad to see Kaylin earn a spot in the lineup," Ferdon said. "She needs experience and I'm eager to see how she will respond."

At the season-opening Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, both Jansen (3-under 213) and Chelsey (1-over 217) netted career-best 54-hole scores. With her fifth-place performance, Jansen secured her second career top-five finish and was the only Lady Bears golfer to card multiple sub-par rounds.
