Price's "Give 'Em Five" Second-Round Results in PDF Format

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - After a record-setting opening round, Baylor women's golfer Jaclyn Jansen remains in the lead through 36 holes Tuesday at Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate at NMSU Golf Course.

Jansen (65-75=140) owns a two-stroke lead over North Texas' Kelsey Kipp, Seattle's Caitlin McCleary and UC Irvine's Michelle Park, who are all tied for second at 2-under 142. The Effingham, Ill., native is one of only eight golfers under-par through two rounds.

Baylor (285-295=580) and host New Mexico State (289-291=580) are tied atop the leaderboard at 4-over 580, while both teams share a seven-stroke edge over third-place UTEP (295-292=587). Mississippi State and North Texas are tied for fourth place at 12-over 588.

"We are still in the lead, but Tuesday was the worst round of golf we could have played," head coach Sylvia Ferdon said. "We have to learn - in the second round - that we can't go out and make things happen."

In addition to Jansen, three other Lady Bears are in the top 20 through 36 holes. Lene Hafsten-Morch is tied for eighth at even-par 144, trailing teammate and leader Jansen by four strokes. Both Chelsey Cothran and Jordan Rhodes are tied for 18th at 4-over 148.

Rhodes matched her career-low 18-hole score, carding Baylor's lowest second-round tally with a 1-under 71. The senior from San Antonio, Texas, shot a 71 at the 2009 NCAA West Regional as a sophomore.

Morgan Chambers (77-85=162) is tied for 70th at 18-over.

"Everyone was forcing it after we had a couple of bad shots to start the round," Ferdon said. "We let our emotions get the best of us, but we need to let them go and learn how to win Wednesday."

The final round of the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Invitational will tee off at 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
