HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - Baylor women's golf senior Hannah Burke is tied for the lead through two rounds Tuesday at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate at 1-under (72-71=143).

Burke shares a two-stroke lead with Denver's Stephanie Sherlock after firing a 1-under 71 during Tuesday's second round. Denver's Kimberly Kim and UC Davis' Alice Kim are tied for third at 1-under 145.

"It was nice to see us hang in there today through some tough conditions," Baylor head women's coach Sylvia Ferdon said.

Baylor remains in second place overall, matching its first-round total with an 11-under 299. The Lady Bears sit 13 strokes behind the leader Denver, which shot a 1-under 287 Tuesday to finish at 9-over 585 through two rounds. UC Davis is third at 23-over 599, followed by Illinois in fourth at 32-over 608 and Iowa State in fifth at 35-over 611.

"Putting was tough, but it turned out to be a home course advantage," Ferdon said. "What appeared to be a bad round turned out well for us; we ended the round with useable scores despite not looking well chipping and putting."

Lene Hafsten-Morch is tied for fifth at 5-over (73-76=149). Sophomores Jaclyn Jansen and Chelsey Cothran also finished the second round in the top 20; Jansen is tied for 15th overall at 10-over (76-78=154), while Cothran is tied for 20th at 11-over (78-77=155).

Junior Morgan Chambers shot a 3-over 75 Tuesday to finish tied for 28th at 13-over (82-75=157). Freshman Melanie White, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 50th at 18-over (79-83=162).

"We came in wanting to compete with Denver and now we are paired with them for Wednesday's final round," Ferdon said.

The final round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate will tee off Wednesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT. Baylor will be paired with first-place Denver and third-place UC Davis for the final round. Live scoring will be available at www.GolfStat.com.
