FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Baylor women's golf team carded the low final round with an even-par 288 to finish seventh overall Tuesday at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic at the Ptarmigan Country Club.

The Lady Bears bounced back from Monday's 11-over 299 second-round tally to finish at 11-over (288-299-288=875). Idaho won the tournament with a final score of 5-under (291-277-291=859). Host Colorado State finished second at 1-under (281-289-293=863), followed by Louisville (287-292-288=867) and New Mexico (286-292-289=867) in a third-place tie at 3-over. Texas Tech finished fifth at 6-over (287-285-298=870).

"I thought everyone played great today," Baylor head women's golf coach Sylvia Ferdon said. "Hannah (Burke) and Jaclyn (Jansen) both had low scores today, which were nice to see. Everyone turned in a useable score and that definitely gets us momentum heading into next week's Ron Moore Intercollegiate."

Sophomore Jaclyn Jansen, who carded a career-low round of 68 Monday, fired a 1-under 71 during Tuesday's final round to finish at 2-under (68-75-71=214). Jansen's second sub-par round of the tournament allowed her to finish tied for eighth overall, eight strokes behind individual medalist Laura Anderson of Louisville (67-71-68=206).

Senior Hannah Burke tallied her first sub-par round of the season with a 3-under 69 Tuesday to finish 13th overall with an even-par 216 (72-75-69). Morgan Chambers finished tied for 35th at 7-over (76-73-74=223). Chelsey Cothran carded an 11-over 227 (77-76-74) to finish tied for 54th, while freshman Melanie White finished tied for 59th in her first collegiate tournament with a score of 14-over (72-82-76=230).

"We're just looking for consistencies," Ferdon said. "We had two good rounds, but we missed out during the second round. We have to learn from that and not let that happen again."

The Baylor Lady Bears will return to Colorado for next week's Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colo. The University of Denver will host the three-day event Sept. 21-23 at the semi-private Highlands Ranch Golf Club. Live scoring will be available online at www.GolfStat.com.
