LUBBOCK, Texas - The Baylor women's golf team wrapped up play at the 2009 Big 12 Championships with a third and final round 315 on Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Bears moved up three spots on the final day of competition at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas, finishing seventh overall with a three-day total of 950 (322-313-315).

Oklahoma State won its seventh Big 12 Women's Golf Championships crown, 13 strokes ahead of Texas A&M. Junior Ashley Freeman of A&M won the individual title after a two-hole playoff, the third individual playoff in Big 12 history.

"I'm really proud of our effort today. Today was by far the harshest conditions of the three rounds, but the girls just got out there and let their talent take over," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. " Four of the five players in our lineup this weekend are underclassmen, so the future for Baylor golf is bright. I think this championships served as a good learning experience that will help us moving forward."

Jordan Rhodes capped off a strong championship showing with a third-round 6-over, 79. Rhodes, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, finished in a five-way tie for 15th overall with a championship-total of 235 (79-77-79). Burke used three third-round birdies to move up 12 spots on the individual leader board, finishing tied for 23rd overall at 237 (80-79-78) for the tournament. Despite an 83 during the first round of play on Friday, Chambers took home 31st place individually at 20-over for championships (83-78-78).
