Box Score

The No. 24 Baylor softball team (18-7) came up short in a 4-0 loss to No. 1 Alabama (16-2), then fell to No. 11 Georgia, 9-0 in the night cap on Saturday in the Easton SEC/Pac 10/Big 12 Challenge at the Alabama Softball Complex.

Canion (10-4) took the loss in game one, throwing six innings, allowing six hits, three earned runs, walking none and striking out seven.

The Lady Bears and Crimson Tide played to a scoreless tie until the fourth, when Kelley Montalvo doubled, stole third and came home on a throwing error to an uncovered third base.

Baylor equaled Alabama's six hits, but stranded five runners on the game, including a pair in the third, as Sydney Wilson and Tiffany Wesley each singled with one out but were stranded at second and first, respectively. T. Wesley was the bright spot offensivley, going 3-for-3.

Alabama added two in the fifth and a solo home run in the sixth to go ahead by the final score of 4-0.

Kelsi Dunn threw a complete-game shutout, allowing six hits and striking out 11 in the win.

Game Two

Georgia jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first after collecting seven hits, chasing Canion after two-thirds of an inning in which she allowed seven runs on seven hits and walked one. Eleven Bulldogs came to bat in the bottom half of the first before a fly out to right ended the inning.

Brittany Turner came on in relief, going 3.1 innings, allowing two hits, two runs and one walk.

Baylor managed just three hits in the game, as Georgia added a pair in the fourth to put the game away in five innings.
