The Baylor women's golf team will travel to Pinehurst, NC to compete in the Pinehurst Challenge, March 1-2. The 36-hole tournament will feature 20 collegiate squads competiting at the prestigious 5,967-yard, par 71 Pinehurst #6.
Monday's first round will tee off at 10 a.m. EST, followed by the second round on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. EST.
The Lady Bears are looking to continue its strong start to the spring season. Baylor finished 8th two weeks ago at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, finishing ahead of five teams ranked the top 25.
Lene Hafsten-Morch paced Baylor in California finishing tied for 12th, with a three-day 230 (76-77-77). It was Hafsten-Morch's third top 20 finish of the season.
Joining Hafsten-Morch in Baylor's lineup at the Pinehurst will be junior Hannah Burke, sophomore Morgan Chambers, senior Natalie Hocott and freshman Chelsey Cothran.
Burke, who led Baylor during the fall season with a stroke average just over 73, finished tied for 25th overall during Baylor's first tournament of 2009. Cothran had a nice collegiate debut with three-day 241 (87-79-75).
