PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Baylor women's golf team carded a 315 during the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge Tuesday afternoon in Palos Verdes, Calif.

After 36 holes of play, the Lady Bears are currently in 11th place at 72-over par. 3rd-ranked Arizona State holds the team lead with a two-day 599 (305-294) headed into the final round of play on Wednesday.

"Overall, I thought we did a better job today because we weren't dealing with as many factors as yesterday," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. "We had a little bit of a problem adjusting to the speed of the greens and pin location, but everyone played the same course we did. We just need to focus on being a little bit more deliberate with our routines and calculations."

Lene Hafsten-Morch continued to pace a Baylor squad competing in its first tournament of the spring season. Hafsten-Morch followed up her opening round 76, with a 6-over 77 on Tuesday. The sophomore from Billingstad, Norway, is tied for 10th place overall with a 153 (76-77) thru two rounds.

After three double-bogeys and three bogeys on her first nine holes, junior Hannah Burke regrouped to fire an even-par back nine to finish the day with a 9-over 80. Burke sits tied for 34th place.

The shot of the day for the Lady Bears came by way of Morgan Chambers on No. 17; a 316-yard, par-4. Chambers, a sophomore from Purcell, Okla., holed out a 130-yard iron shot from the fairway to record the only eagle of the tournament thus far.

Playing in her first collegiate tournament, Chelsey Cothran rebounded from a first-day 87 to tally an 8-over 79 during Tuesday's second round. The freshman from Springdale, Ark., pared the final five holes to head into play Wednesday in 64th place. Jaclyn Jansen rounded out play for Baylor with a second-round 90.

Baylor will wrap up play at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge with the third and final round on Wednesday morning.
