COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Baylor men's golf team shot 323 in the final round to place 25th overall at the NCAA Central Regional on the Scarlet Course on the campus of Ohio State University. The Bears finished the tournament at 87-over par, and 38 shots back of the tenth and final qualifying position.
Wake Forest won the team championship, shooting 27-over par for the tournament to win by 10 strokes over Oklahoma State. Kevin Tway of Oklahoma State won the individual competition, finishing the three-day tournament at 1-over par.
Wes Williams led the way for the Bears in his final collegiate tournament. The senior shot 83 on the final day to finish at 20-over par in a tie for 96th overall. Colton Williams carded a 78 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 102nd at 21-over par.
Jeff Gerlich shot 84 on Saturday to finish at 23-over par in a tie for 115th overall. Cody Paladino shot his second-consecutive 81 in the third round to finish in a tie for 127th overall at 27-over par. Bill Allcorn finished the tournament at 28-over par after a third-round 81 on Saturday.
Baylor ends its season after earning its 11th-straight NCAA Regional appearance, the second-longest active streak in the Big 12. The Bears claimed team titles at the Saint Mary's Invitational and the Rice Intercollegiate, while W. Williams won the individual title at the Saint Mary's Invitational and Colton Williams finished as individual medalist at Border Olympics.
