WACO, Texas - The Baylor volleyball team ended its spring workouts sweeping all three opponents at the Bears' final spring tournament held at the McLane Student Life Center on Saturday.
Baylor finishes its spring season with an 11-1 record, with its lone loss coming to No. 21 New Mexico State at the Texas Tornadoes Club volleyball tournament in Houston.
In Baylor's final tournament of the spring, the Bears were led by Anna Breyfogle who recorded 25 kills and hit at a .600 clip over the three matches. Ashlie Christenson added 26 kills, while Katie Sanders tallied 23 kills on the weekend. Setter Taylor Barnes added 20 kills for the Bears.
"It was a very good spring for Baylor volleyball," said head coach Jim Barnes. "I believe that it has set us up to have a very successful regular season. All the players will be here over the summer, and we believe this will be the best, deepest team we've ever had at Baylor."
This spring, Baylor added seven signees who will join the team for the 2008 season, highlighted by Krista Brenner, the No. 52-ranked recruit from the class of 2007, and Briana Tolbert, the No. 62 player in the class of 2008.
