COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The top-seeded Baylor women's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championships with a 4-0 blanking of Texas Tech on Friday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center at College Station, Texas. The Lady Bears will now take on Colorado match in semifinal action at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The victory over the Red Raiders raised Baylor's record to 26-2 while Texas Tech, the tournament's No. 9 seed, falls to 12-12. The victory extended the Lady Bears' win streak to nine matches.

Lenka Broosova and Zuzana Zemenova both posted singles and doubles wins to enable the Lady Bears to claim the victory.

With its win in doubles, Baylor has now won the doubles points in 22 matches this season. Zemenova and Broosova, ranked No. 5, were the first tandem off the court with an 8-3 win over 41st-ranked Janet Durham and Samantha van der Drift. Taylor Ormond and Stanivuk, ranked No. 59, sealed doubles with an 8-6 triumph over Brenna Jackson and Kerryn Potgeiter.

All three singles winners claimed victory in straight sets. No. 17 Broosova was the first Baylor player off the court with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kelsey Garland while Zemenova, ranked No. 24, won by the identical score over van der Drift. Zuzana Chmelarova, playing at No. 5, clinched the victory with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Potgeiter.

"I am pleased with the way we played today. Texas Tech is a tough team for us to play. They obviously did real well yesterday in upsetting Oklahoma, so we knew we had to be focused and ready to play," said head coach Joey Scrivano. "The girls did a good job of focusing and they took care of business."
