WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis team moved up three spots to No. 3 in the nation in the latest rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Bears, 24-2 overall and 10-0 in Big 12 action, attain their second-highest ranking in program history. Earlier this season Baylor reached as high as No. 2 in the ITA rankings for one week before suffering a loss to top-ranked Northwestern. The Lady Bears were also ranked third for the week prior to their move to the number two spot.

Last week Baylor defeated Oklahoma and then-No. 68 Oklahoma State to remain perfect in Big 12 Conference play. The Lady Bears can secure their fourth-straight Big 12 regular season championship with a win over No. 21 Texas on Saturday in Austin, Texas.

In addition to its No. 3 national ranking, Baylor has four singles players ranked in the nation this week. Lenka Broosova dropped two spots to No. 15 overall after winning her singles match against Oklahoma. Broosova holds a 24-1 record in dual matches this season, with her only loss coming against Georgia.

Zuzana Zemenova fell one spot to No. 25 in the nation despite five straight singles wins over the past two weeks. Zemenova moved into second place all-time at Baylor with 111 career singles wins, and holds a perfect 35-0 career record in Big 12 play, all coming at the No. 1 position. On Monday, Zemenova earned her third Big 12 Player of the Week award of the season. The award is the seventh of her career, a Big 12 record.

Taylor Ormond is ranked No. 36 in the nation this week, while Jana Bielikova jumped four spots to No. 77 overall.

The Lady Bears also continue to have two doubles teams included in the ITA rankings as the duo of Zemenova and Broosova are ranked seventh in the nation and Ormond and Jelena Stanivuk are No. 55 in the newest rankings.

Baylor returns to action on Saturday as the Lady Bears face No. 21 Texas at 12 noon in Austin, Texas. The Lady Bears, winners of three-straight Big 12 regular season championships, will be looking for their fifth title in the last six years.
