CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -
Trailing, 4-2 in the bottom of the third, the Baylor Lady Bears (6-1 overall) outscored
Kirsten Shortridge extended her consecutive at-bats with a hit streak to nine before grounding out to the pitcher in the fourth, going 3-for-4 with an RBI on the night.
Baylor got on board in the first when Shortridge scored on a throwing error by the catcher after stealing third.
The Lady Bears added another run in the second when Tiffany Wesley hit a ball into left to score KJ Freeland from second, but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double.
Baylor answered in the third when Courtney Oberg hit into a fielder's choice, scoring Shortridge from third. Daniels followed with her own fielder's choice, scoring T. Wesley from third to tie the game at four apiece.
Isham settled down and was stellar the rest of the way, giving up just one hit in the final four innings of work.
Baylor added the go-ahead run in the fifth, when Daniels stepped up and hit a double to left center field, scoring T. Wesley.
The Lady Bears added a trio of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, with RBI singles from Nicole Wesley and Kirsten Shortridge and an RBI groundout by Brette Reagan.
Isham finished the night giving up four runs on five hits, two walks and three strikeouts in the complete game effort to move her record to 3-0.
Baylor will be back in action on Friday to take on
