IRVING, Texas -
Senior Jordan Daniels has been named Big 12 Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. The selection is the first of Daniels' career and the 14th time in program history a Lady Bear has been honored.
Daniels hit .643 (9-for-14) with two doubles, three home runs and seven RBI in Baylor's four games this past weekend and led the tournament field in almost every offensive category, including a 1.429 slugging percentage. Her three run blast on Friday to tie the game in the fourth against Purdue marked the first of her Lady Bear career, as she was responsible for seven of the 23 Baylor runs over the weekend.
Megan Gibson of Texas A&M was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.
Daniels and the Lady Bears return to the field Tuesday to take on Prairie View A&M in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.
