WACO, Texas - Women's golf team members Allison Martin and Anna Rehnholm were named 2006-07 All-American Scholars the National Golf Coaches Association announced this week.
Martin, a senior, concluded her collegiate career by leading the Bears at the NCAA Central Regional with a 24th-place finish at 13-under par. Her 24th-place finish is fifth-best all-time for a Baylor golfer in regional play. Martin highlighted her senior season with seven top-10 finishes, including an individual title at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.
Also a senior, Rehnholm finished second-best on the team in regional action, placing 64th overall at 21-over par. She earned two top-5 finishes on the year, including a runner-up finish at the Maxwell-Berning Classic.
All-American Scholar Teams for Divisions I, II, and III were announced with a total of 368 women's collegiate golfer's recognized. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.50 and 50% participation in the team's scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
