WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's golf team heads to South Carolina for the second time this spring as the Bears travel to Awendaw, S.C. for the third-annual Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on March 25-27at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Fifteen teams comprise the field at the tournament, including five ranked the the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll. Also participating along with host South Carolina are Arkansas, Augusta State, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Florida State, Kentucky, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Central Florida, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest.
Bulls Bay Golf Club, unrivaled in its beauty, challenge and condition, is the last original design in the brilliant career of architect Mike Strantz. Bulls Bay is another masterpiece, taking full advantage of the beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Within a site overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and literally miles of tidal creeks and marshlands, Bulls Bay has created dramatic dune ridges that cradle broad, windswept fairways and imaginative green complexes.
After struggling to a season-worst 17th-place finish at the General Hackler Invitational, the Bears responded last week with a second-place finish at the Border Olympics in Laredo. Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) and Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) both finished at four-under par to tie for seventh overall at the tournament.
