Baylor has competed at the invitational two times since 2000. Their best finish came in 2002 finishing third (307-305=612).
The Bears finished third in their last competition at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. Freshman Hannah Burke finished third to lead the Bears, while senior Allison Martin tied for sixth to give the Bears two top-ten finishes.
"This is the best start the Bears have had to our spring season in quite some time. I hope we can remain healthy thru the next stretch of tournaments," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. "We seem to like playing in the desert...so I am looking for another chance to be in the last threesome with another opportunity to win. That experience is invaluable when it comes to the Big 12 and post season play."
Ferdon has slotted seniors Allison Martin and Anna Rehnholm, junior Sian Reddick and freshmen Hannah Burke and Natalie Hocott as the starting lineup.
The Bears will return to action at the Susie Maxwell-Berning Classic April 8-9 in Norman, Okla. Results will be posted on www.baylorbears.com.
