KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Hannah Burke led the Baylor women's golf team at the Edwin Watts Palmetto Intercollegiate as the Bears finished in 16th place on Tuesday after two days of competition from the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The Bears (313-324-319=956) were in a tie for fourth place following the first round on Monday, but Baylor's struggles grew as the tournament progressed, dropping to 16th place. Baylor's 956 was the highest stroke total this season as the two-day, 54-hole event, was won with a 906 by East Carolina (308-295-303).
Burke garnered Baylor's best individual finish, ending the tournament in a tie for 18th with her 230 (77-78-75). Burke's 14-over-par performance was a sign of Baylor's struggles as her 230 matched a career-high stroke total for a three-round tournament.
Senior Sian Reddick finished tied for 34th (78-78-79=235) and was followed by freshman Lene Hafsten-Morch (t-71), sophomore Natalie Hocott (t-87) and freshman Morgan Chambers (t-87).
The Bears will return to action in their final fall competition as they travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Challenge at Wolfdancer beginning on Nov. 4.
