Baylor's women's golf team will return to action on Monday when begins play at the Edwin Watts Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Oak Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.

The Bears last competed at the Price's "Give-Em Five" Invitational in Las Cruises, N.M. on Oct. 15-17. After a strong first two rounds, Baylor stumbled in the final round to finish in a ninth-place tie.

Freshman Lene Hafsten-Morch (Billingstad, Norway) was in the lead after two rounds as she carded consecutive rounds of 72 to open the event at even par. Hafsten-Morch shot an 80 in the final round of the tournament to finish tied for 11th. Hafsten-Morch's 224 is the lowest 54-hole stroke total of her collegiate career and led the Bears at the event.

Hafsten-Morch will be slotted in Baylor's No. 1 spot entering the Edwin Watts Palmetto Intercollegiate; she will be joined by fellow freshman Morgan Chambers (Purcell, Okla.), sophomores Hannah Burke (Hertforshire, England) and Natalie Hocott (San Antonio, Texas), and senior Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England).

"We had a tough battle to fill our final spot for this tournament," said head coach Sylvia Ferdon. "The girls are playing with a lot of intensity and I hope they can carry over the strong efforts they are showing in practice. This team has shown that they can play with any team that we've faced so far, we just have to put everything together for all 54 holes."

Burke is currently leading the team with her 18-hole stroke average of 73.89. She led Baylor in each of its first two tournaments and was second on the team in the Bears' last event.

Other schools competing in the event include: Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Maryland, Miami, Nebraska, Oral Roberts, Princeton, Chattanooga, Western Carolina, and Wisconsin.

First-round action begins on Monday at 8:30 a.m. and is followed by an afternoon second round. The third round will be played on Tuesday beginning at 8:45 a.m. Results from the tournament can be followed live GolfStat.com.
