LUBBOCK, Texas - Second-seeded Lenka Broosova made quick work of Louisiana-Lafayette's Kim van der Horst to advance to the round of 32 of the ITA Southwest Regional in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday. Broosova was one of four Baylor women's tennis players to advance in the main draw.

No. 54 Broosova lost just one game en route to her opening round victory. After taking the first match 6-1, she quickly dumped van der Horst into the consolation bracket with a 6-0 win.

She was quickly joined by teammates Jana Bielikova, Taylor Ormond and Karolina Filipiak. All three won in straight sets and never allowed their opponent to win more than four games during a single set.

Bielikova defeated Dominique Karas of Rice 6-2, 6-3, and Ormond toppled North Texas' Narine Kazarova 6-4, 6-3. Filipiak won her match, 6-4, 6-4, by downing Southern Methodists' Nicole Briceno.

In doubles action, Baylor had two teams advance to the round of 16. Filipiak and Ormond won 8-4 in the round of 32, while Broosova and Zemenova marched past the Texas Christian duo of xxx Hertzberg and xxx Morgado, 8-2.

Zemenova, ranked No. 6 in the country, is not competing in singles action as she has already received an automatic bid into the National Indoors later this year.

Southwest Regional action continues on Sunday from the McLeod Tennis Center on the campus of Texas Tech University.
