WACO, Texas -- Baylor's baseball team received its 13th invitation to the NCAA Tournament, the National Selection Committee announced Monday morning. The Bears are the No. 3 seed at the Houston Regional, hosted by Rice at Reckling Park. Baylor faces second-seeded Arizona State in the first round Friday, June 2, at 8 p.m. CDT.

All games at the NCAA Houston Regional will be televised live on CSTV.

This is Baylor's eighth NCAA appearance in the Big 12 Conference's 10-year history, the most of any program in the league. The Bears have reached the regionals every year save one since 1998.

Baylor makes its second appearance at Rice. The Bears went 2-2 and reached the regional championship game there in 2001.

Joining Baylor, Arizona State and host Rice at the Houston Regional is Southwestern Athletic Conference champion Prairie View A&M. The Bears have faced each of the other three participants this season and are 2-3 against the Houston Regional field. Baylor dropped two of three against Arizona State, defeated Prairie View A&M 14-2 and fell to Rice 6-4. All five games were played at Baylor Ballpark.

Baylor is 30-26 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including a 24-15 mark in the regional round.
