The Baylor women's golf team shot a tournament low 296 for a 54-hole total of 32-over par 896 to take an 11-stroke victory Tuesday at the Central District Invitational at the 6,099-yard, par-72 Wilderness Golf Club.
Senior Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.) led the Bears and finished third at 5-over par 221 (76-72-73). Jones finished at 1-over par 73 today. She birdied 7 and 9 and pared 8 of the last 9 holes.
Sophomore Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) finished eighth at 8-over par 224 (76-74-74). She bogeyed the third and fifth and birdied the fourth and ninth before double bogeying on 14. Reddick birdied 17 and finished by bogeying on 18. Reddick finished her third round at 2-over par 74, her second of the tournament.
Senior Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden) tied for 16th at 11-over par 227 (76-75-76). Teeing off from the second, Svenningsson bogeyed the third and double bogeyed the fifth, before she birdied the eighth. She bogeyed 10 and 11 before shooting six straight pars. Svenningsson bogeyed on 18, but finished with a birdie on one.
Junior Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) tied for 20th at 13-over par 229 (77-77-75). After teeing off from the second, Martin opened the round with five straight pars before bogeying the seventh. She then shot eight straight pars before bogeying 16 and 18. Martin finished round three at 3-over par 75.
Junior Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) also tied for 20th at 13-over par 229 (74-81-74). Teeing off from the third, Renholm shot six straight pars after bogeying the third. She birdied the 10th and bogeyed on 13, 16, and 18 before she birdied again on one. Rehnholm finished the day at 2-over par 74, rebounding from her 81 in round two.
Junior Sherry Summers (Montgomery, Texas) competed individually and finished 56th at 22-over par 238 (82-76-80). She finished her third round today at 8-over par 80. Teeing off on 16, Summers birdied 17 after bogeying 16. Summers also double-bogeyed two and 13, bogeyed the fifth, seventh, 10th, 11th, and 14th, and birdied the sixth.
The Bears compete next at the Texas A&M Mo-morial Invitational held March 10-12 at The Traditional Club in Bryan, Texas
