WACO, Texas -- Baylor baseball's 2006 season opener against Stephen F. Austin, originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, has been postponed due to inclement weather in the Central Texas area. The Bears and the Lumberjacks will meet Saturday at 3 p.m. CST and conclude the three-game series Sunday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader. All three games will be played at Baylor Ballpark.

This marks the second time in three years that Baylor's season opener has been postponed due to inclement weather. In 2004, the Bears' season opener against Loyola Marymount was postponed due to snow.

Baylor posted a 46-24 record in 2005. The Bears claimed a share of the Big 12 Conference title, reached the national semifinals at the College World Series and finished ranked fourth nationally, the highest final ranking in the program's history.
