AUBURN, Ala. - The Baylor women's golf team will travel to Auburn to compete at the Derby Invitational on Friday, Oct. 27. The 6,310-yard par-72 Auburn University Club Golf Course will host Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Birmingham-Southern, Central Florida, Florida, Florida State, Furman, Kansas, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
The Bears are currently ranked 46th nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings and are 52nd according to the Goflweek ratings.
The Bears are coming off an outstanding tournament last week at the Price's "Give `Em Five" Invitational. Seniors Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) and Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) fired a 219 to tie for fifth and lead the Bears to a second place finish.
Martin leads the team with a 73.33 stroke average while Burke is second at 74.82 strokes per round.
This weekend is Baylor's first time to compete at the Derby Invitational since 1994. This year marks Auburn's 11th annual Derby Invitational.
The Bears have the rest of the fall off before returning to action at the Central District Invitational Feb. 19-20, 2007, in Parrish, Fla.
