WACO, Texas -- Baylor baseball begins preseason drills Tuesday at Baylor Ballpark in preparation for the upcoming season. Practice begins at 2:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
The defending Big 12 Conference champion Bears open the 2006 season Feb. 5 at Baylor Ballpark with a 2 p.m. exhibition game against a team made up of former Baylor players now playing professionally. Baylor's 2006 season officially begins Feb. 10-12 as the Bears host Stephen F. Austin for a three-game series.
Baylor posted a 46-24 overall record in 2005, reached the national semifinals at the College World Series and finished ranked fourth nationally, the highest final ranking in the program's history.
