Men's Golf Finishes 4th at William H. Tucker

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Baylor men's golf team shot a final round 285 and finished the tournament at six-over-par 870 (287-298-285) to finish fourth at the William H. Tucker Saturday at the University of New Mexico Championship Course.

Senior Ryan Baca (Richmond, Texas), led the way for the Bears after finishing the tournament in a tie for 10th after completing play at one-under-par 215 (70-72-73). This was Baca's first tournament back after taking last year off to redshirt.

Junior Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas) shot a final round 73 and finished tied for 40th (73-75-73) along with redshirt freshman Bill Allcorn (Abilene, Texas), who fired a final round one-under-par 71 to complete the tournament at 221 (73-77-71). Junior Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas) roared back after a rough second round and fired a final round four-under-par 68 to finish in a tie for 47th (74-80-68). Sophomore Wes Williams (Franklin, Tenn.) also completed play at the Invitational in a tie for 47th at 222 (71-74-77).

UNLV claimed the team title by 10 strokes over runner-up BYU after completing play at 13-under-par. Texas Tech came in third, followed by the Bears, while Colorado rounded out the top-five. UNLV's Andres Gonzales captured the individual competition by two strokes over teammate Jarred Texter after shooting rounds of 67, 72 and 68.

The Bears will take a week off before returning to play at the Mason Rudolph Championship Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in Franklin Tenn.
