Stanford head coach Mark Marquess
On today's win:

"Well for us I thought it was a big win, the key was that we had a good starting performance Matt Manship, he gave us five or six good innings. We also had a couple of big hits, obviously John Mayberry's three-run home run was key for us, we had another two-out single that scored for us. It was a good win for us because we were facing elimination, but I thought the key was our good pitching."

On UTSA:
"Well I think that shows the type of team they are, obviously to get here they played very well in the tournament. I saw last night they played very well and competed very well. They are very dangerous through their line up, just when you think you can get away with a pitch they jumped on it. I was very impressed with a team well coached and they represented themselves well here."

Stanford first baseman John Mayberry Jr.
On players being walked:

"It definitily makes it more exciting, they're two runners on base and we have a better chance to drive somebody in, makes you focus and concentrate more when something like that happens."

Stanford Pitcher Matt Manship
On playing a team from his hometown:
"It was strange, it was the first time it happened. It was a little surreal just because I moved all the way up to California and that's one of the last things I would have suspected, throwing against a school that's 10 minutes away from home."

UT-San Antonio head coach Sherman Corbett
On shortcomings:

"Overall the difference was the inability of our pitchers to make pitches at times. When you get to this level and the competition is better, you don't get away with as many mistakes."

On advancing to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 11 years:
"Obviously it brought a lot of excitement to UTSA. It's something that I'm really proud of these players. They really stayed after it after a slow start. This club stayed with it. They continued to battle and put themselves in position to get into the conference tournament. They played extremely well. Getting to this level, I hope that our players saw that they can go out there and compete with other teams. Obviously we didn't play as good as we needed to to win games. But I think that when you're in the ballpark with the teams that we're playing, it's just a matter of getting to that level and taking another step forward to playing better baseball. Definitely, it's not going to take another 11 years for us to get here."

UTSA shortstop Ryan Crew
On the NCAA experience:

"It's incredible. The number one goal at the beginning of the season was to get to this point. Along with the conference tournament, this is probably one of the funnest times I've ever had playing baseball."
