WACO, Texas - Behind Lance Broadway's complete-game performance, second-seeded TCU advanced in the NCAA Baseball Waco Regional with a 5-1 victory over third-seeded Stanford in action at Baylor Ballpark.

With the win, TCU improves to 41-18 on the season and advances in the winner's bracket to face the winner of Baylor and Texas-San Antonio at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.

Stanford falls to 32-24 with the loss and will play an elimination game against the loser of Baylor-UTSA at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 5.

The Horned Frogs gave Broadway all the run support he would need with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded and no outs, Matt McGuirk drove in Stuart Musslewhite with a RBI fielder's choice as TCU grabbed a 1-0 lead. Matt Carpenter then provided the key hit in the inning with a two-run, two-out single, scoring Chad Huffman and Shelby Ford to give TCU a three-run lead.

With Stanford unable to score in the next three innings, Kyle Dahlberg gave TCU a four-run lead when he lifted a solo home run over the left-center field wall, his sixth home run of the season, in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Stanford managed to cut into the lead with a run in the fifth when Michael Taylor scored on a wild pitch; however, the Cardinal were unable to score again as TCU added a run in the seventh to make the final 5-1.

Broadway improved to 15-1 with the complete-game win, allowing only one run on six hits while striking out seven.

Jeff Gilmore took the loss and fell to 10-3 on the season after allowing five runs on seven hits in six innings of work.

Carpenter led the Horned Frogs attack, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
