One of 10 invitees participating in the 2005 College World Series, VanAllen is 8-4 this season with a 3.86 ERA and 60 strikeouts. He is 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in the NCAA Tournament, including the victory in Baylor's 6-1 Super Regional Championship Game win over Clemson. VanAllen has been his strongest in series/tournament finale starts, going 6-1 with a 2.69 ERA and 48 strikeouts against 17 walks in 12 such starts.
Eight Baylor student-athletes have participated on USA Baseball National Teams, including Jason Jennings twice. Michael Griffin was the last Bear to play with the National Team, doing so in 2003.
"This final list of athletes represents our view of the non-draft eligible players whose continued 2005 performance on the field has warranted the invitation," USA Baseball General Manager of National Teams Eric Campbell said. "They add to an already great group from which we have to select our National Team."
