Box Score

STILLWATER, Okla. - Steve Ptak's bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth scored the winning run as No. 10 Baylor dropped a 3-2 decision to Oklahoma State in Sunday's series finale at Reynolds Stadium. With the win, Oklahoma State (19-8, 4-2) wins the two games to one over Baylor (16-10, 4-2).

The Cowboys got the game-winning run without the benefit of a hit. After back-to-back one-out walks to Jeff Parrish and Ty Wright, both runners advanced on a passed ball. Baylor reliever Abe Woody then intentionally walked Corey Brown to set up a force at any base. That set the stage for Ptak's heroics as Parrish slid in safely just ahead of Zach Dillon's tag.

Woody (3-1) suffered just his second career loss, allowing one run on no hits and three walks with one strikeout in 2.2 innings. Starter Cory VanAllen was touched for two runs on four hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 6.0-plus innings, retiring after a leadoff walk to Wright in the seventh.

OSU starter Scott Richmond (2-1) went the distance for the win. He yielded two runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts.

Oklahoma State took the game's first lead in the bottom of the second, thanks to a Ty Wright one-out solo home run. The Cowboys added a run in the third on Mike Hernandez two-out RBI single.

Baylor tied the game in the seventh, scoring a pair of runs with two outs. With the bases empty, Zach Dillon drew a walk and then moved to second on a Reid Brees single. Kevin Russo followed with an RBI single through the right side on the 10th pitch of the at bat. Mike Pankratz then singled up the middle, plating Brees.

The Bears return to action Tuesday, hosting Texas Southern in a 6 p.m. CST game at Baylor Ballpark.
