WACO, Texas - Baylor University has been selected to compete in the NCAA Women's Golf Championships Central Regional, marking the Bears' fifth straight postseason appearance, the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee announced Monday.

The NCAA Central Regional will be hosted by Illinois State May 6-8 at the University Golf Course in Normal, Ill. The top eight teams and two additional individuals from each of the three regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships hosted by Auburn May 18-21 at Grand National Lake Course in Opelika, Ala.

Baylor is coming off a fifth-place showing at the rain-shortened Big 12 Championships this past weekend in College Station, Texas. The Bears are led by sophomore All-Big 12 performer Josefin Svenningsson (Gislaved, Sweden), who leads the team with a 75.51 stroke average, and sophomore Meredith Jones (Eugene, Ore.), who finished tied for seventh at the Big 12 Championship.
