WACO, Texas - The Baylor Lady Bear tennis team won the doubles point and took five of six singles matches to defeat Kansas State, 6-1, on Sunday at the Washburn Tennis Facility in Manhattan, Kan. Baylor raised its record to 10-9 overall and 6-2 in Big 12 action while Kansas State fell to 5-12 and 1-8 in league play.

As it has all season in league play, the bottom spots of the lineup won their matches. In all six of Baylor's league wins, positions four, five and six have won their matches. Against Kansas State, Baylor also picked up wins at the one and three positions. Winning for the Lady Bears in singles were Carolin Walter, Daria Potapova, Klara Zrustova, Iva Mihaylova and Zuzana Krchnakova at Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6, respectively.

Baylor began the day by taking the doubles point winning at No. 2 and 3 with victories by Zrustova and Daniela Covello and Krchnakova and Izbela Mijic.

The Lady Bears will return home to host Oklahoma and Oklahoma State on April 16 and 17, respectively. The match between Baylor and the Sooners will begin at 5 p.m., and the Oklahoma State/Baylor match is set for 2 p.m.
