Waco, Texas - The No. 19 Baylor Lady Bears split a pair of games with the Oklahoma Christian Lady Eagles in action at Getterman Stadium, falling to the Lady Eagles 3-2 in game one and rebounding for a 10-3 victory in game two. With the split, Baylor saw its 13 game-winning streak end, however, moved to 35-7 on the season heading into an important conference series with Nebraska.

In a season that has seen Baylor win numerous times in the final at-bat, the Lady Bears finally fell victim to a late inning rally in game one. With the score tied at two in the seventh, Oklahoma Christian grabbed a 3-2 lead when Tiffany Willis scored on a Baylor fielding error.

Baylor mounted a rally in the bottom of the inning; but, was unable to score when Kelly Levesque lined out to left field with the bases loaded to end the game.

In addition to ending the Lady Bears 13 game winning streak, the loss snapped Lisa Ferguson's streak of 11 straight wins. Ferguson came into the game in relief of starter April Luce and allowed one unearned run in two innings of work as her record dropped to 14-2 on the season. Luce, who was making her first career collegiate start, allowed two runs on 11 hits in five innings of work.

Danelle Arnold led the attack for the Lady Bears in game one as she went two for three, including a double, to drive in both Baylor runs in the game.

The Lady Bears rebounded with a balanced attack at the plate to capture the evening's second game, scoring ten runs on 12 hits to defeat Oklahoma Christian 10-3. Baylor jumped out to an early lead with five unearned runs in the second to grab a 5-0 lead.

Following three runs in the top of the third by Oklahoma Christian, the Lady Bears pushed the lead back up to five with three in the bottom of the inning to make the score 8-3. Single runs in the fourth and the fifth gave the Lady Bears a 10-3 win. Stephanie Pomes led the attack for Baylor in game two, going three for three and establishing new career highs for RBI (5) and total bases (8).

In the second, Pomes smashed a double to right center to score Carrie Leerberg and Levesque and blasted a two-run homer to straightaway center field in the third to give Baylor an 8-3 lead. Following a Leerberg triple in the fifth, Pomes doubled to left for her fifth RBI of the day.

Baylor recorded a pair of firsts in game two, as freshman Chelsi Lake picked up her first victory of her career as Luce came into the game in relief, allowing no runs on seven hits, to record her first career save.

Baylor will return to action this weekend, when the Lady Bears travel to Lincoln, Neb., for a pair of games against the nationally-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. Game one in the series will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3.
