WACO, Texas - Baylor women's golf moved up two spots into 6th place after completing the second round of the 17-team Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The Bears shot a 302 today, giving them a total score of 612, tied with BYU and UTEP. The University of New Mexico maintained their lead from yesterday and has a two-round total of 576, nine shots ahead of second place Oklahoma State.
New Mexico's Kailin Downs and Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin are tied for first place with a two- round total of 138. Baylor senior Michaelyn Morgan continues to lead the Bears with a two-round total of 150; she is in 23rd place. Sophomore Josefin Svenningsson continued steady play shooting a 76 and is tied for 33rd with a two-day total of 153. Senior Kelli McKandless shot a one-under par 72, improving by 11 strokes over Friday's total. She is currently tied with freshman teammate Anna Rehnholm for 43rd.
The Bears will play the final round Saturday morning at the University New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.
