Men's Golfers Finish Seventh

Waco, Texas - Baylor men's golf concluded the rain soaked final round of the Mason Rudolph Men's Golf Championships in Kingston Springs, Tenn., in a tie for seventh of 18 teams.

Baylor (291-299=590) was led by senior Will Doughtie (71-73=144) for the second consecutive tournament, who finished tied for 10th individually at two-over-par. This is the eighth time Doughtie has finished in the top-10 of his career.

The University of Alabama-Birmingham (563) won the tournament over second place Texas A&M (577) by 14 shots. South Carolina (580) finished third, while host Vanderbilt (584) and Mississippi (586) rounded out the top-five.

The Bears had two other individuals place in the top-40. Junior Ryan Baca (69-76=145) finished tied for 12th, while Jeremy Frye (73-76=149) recorded his second consecutive top-50 finish in a tie for 33rd.

Junior Jamie Luna (78-75=153) shot a two round 153 and finished tied for 63rd, while senior Jon Antunes (83-75=158) finished in a tie for 78th.

Chris Cousins (67-69=136) of UAB and Texas A&M's Stephen Reed (71-65=136) tied for the individual championship shooting a two round total of six-under-par.

This was the Bears' final tune-up before the Baylor Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30 at Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco, Texas.
