WACO, Texas - After one day of action, the Baylor women's tennis team advanced two players to the quarterfinals in singles and two doubles teams to the semifinals of the HEB-Baylor Fall Tennis Invitational. Play will continue on Saturday morning at the Baylor Tennis Center and conclude with championships matches in both singles and doubles on Sunday.

Baylor's lone junior, Daria Potapova, advanced to the quarterfinals of the gold bracket after posting two wins on Friday and sophomore Stephanie Balzert also won two matches to move into the quarterfinals of the green bracket. The Bears advanced two teams into the semifinals in doubles when Potapova and Balzert and the tandem of Iva Mihaylova and Izabela Mijic each posted two victories.

Balzert will face Dianna Hollands of Arizona, the green bracket's top seed on Saturday. Potapova is seeded No. 4 in the gold bracket and she will take on No. 5 seed Katie Ruckert of Texas. Balzert and Potapova will have their hands full in doubles. They are matched up against UT-Arlington's Marketa Ciznova dn Daniela Novakova who defeated the bracket's top seeded duo of Nancy Kockoff and Jenny Kuhn of Tulane.
