WACO, Texas - Men's golfers Ryan Baca and Trevar Matheson earned postseason accolades from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Baca, who paced the Bears throughout the season, was named to the honorable mention PING All-America team. He also earned PING All-Region honors. Baca recorded six top-10 finishes including winning medallist honors at the Jayhawk Intercollegiate in September. He was a key contributor to Baylor's two tournament victories. Throughout the season he carded scores of par or below in 18 rounds, including recording a season-best 66 at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate to open spring play in February. Baca also was named an All-Big 12 selection.
Matheson, a senior from Victoria, B.C., was named a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar. He recorded two top-20 finishes in his final season as well as carding nine rounds of par of below. He shot a season-best round of 68 at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate. Matheson is an accounting major.
