DALLAS, Texas -
Baylor sophomore Ryan Baca was one of 10 men's golfers to earn All-Big 12 honors, the conference office announced on Friday.
Baca paced the Bears throughout the season, recording an overall stroke average of 71.71 through 31 rounds, which ranks second in the Big 12. He recorded six top-10 finishes including winning medallist honors at the Jayhawk Intercollegiate in September. He was a key contributor to Baylor's two tournament victories this season. Throughout the season he carded scores of par or below in 18 of the 32 rounds he played, including recording a season-best 66 at the Waikoloa Intercollegiate to open spring play in February.
This is the first conference honor for Baca. He is the eighth Bear golfer to be named to the all conference team under head coach Tim Hobby.
The Bears are coming off a ninth place finish at the Big 12 Championships last week. They will find out if they earned their sixth-straight NCAA regional bid when the regional fields are announced on Monday.
