Men's Golfers Head to Lafayette

WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will play its third tournament of the spring season at the Louisiana Classics on Monday-Tuesday, Mar. 10-11, at the Oakbourne County Club.

The tournament includes a strong 15-team field that includes Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, Missouri, North Texas, Rice, SMU, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M, Texas-San Antonio, Texas Tech and Tulsa.

The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two rounds of 18 beginning Monday at 8 a.m. The third and final round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Oakbourne Country Club golf course is a 6,691-yard, par 72 course situated in Lafayette.

The 47th ranked Bears will send sophomore Ryan Baca, juniors Jon Antunes and Will Doughtie, senior Trevar Matheson and most likely freshman Will McDonald.

Baca currently leads the team with a 71.75 stroke average through four rounds in the spring.

In Baylor's last outing of the fall, the Bears finished tied for sixth of 15 schools at the truncated UTSA Roadrunner Invitational in San Antonio.
