WACO, Texas - Junior Daria Potapova posted a singles win on Saturday afternoon in the ITA Southwest Regionals to advance to the round of 16. In addition, she teamed with Stephanie Balzert to defeat the tournament's 4th-seeded team to advance to the quarterfinals in doubles. The tournament, hosted by TCU, is being held at the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

Potapova and Balzert posted an easy 8-2 doubles win over Alexandra Nieto/Anneline Zerwick of Northwestern State then went on to knock off 4th-seeded Marketa Cizova and Daniela Novakova of UT-Arlington, 8-2. The tandem will now face Maria Ivanova and Nancy Kockott of Texas at noon on Sunday. In round 1 of consolation doubles Iva Mihaylova and Izabela Mijic defeated UL-Lafayette's Susan Linden/Kimberly Lyles, 8-5. In round 2 the duo beat Joanna Furdyna and Teodora Sprita of UTEP, 8-4.

In the round of 32 in singles, Potapova defeated Texas' Mia Marovic, 6-4, 6-4. She will now face the tournament's top seed, Julie Smekodub of Tulane.
