Baylor opens its 2006 season the weekend of Feb. 10, hosting Illinois, Tulsa and Wichita State in the fifth-annual Getterman Classic presented by Compass Bank and Hilton. Action gets underway Friday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. as Wichita State takes on Tulsa. The Lady Bears' first action is at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, against Tulsa, followed by a 5:30 p.m. game against Illinois. This is the first of two regular-season tournaments at Getterman Stadium; Baylor also hosts the Compass Bank Invitational, March 3-5. GETTERMAN CLASSIC HISTORY
This is the fifth rendition of the Getterman Classic, presented by Compass Bank and Hilton. Baylor won each of the first two Getterman Classics, going 6-0 both years, before Pacific captured the 2004 title with a 5-0 record. Baylor reclaimed the title in 2005, posting a perfect 6-0 record. In 23 games, Baylor is 22-1 all-time at the Getterman Classic as the Lady Bears have out-scored opponents 151-21 over the three-year history of the tournament.
