WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will continue its fall season by playing at the Kansas Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, at the Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan.
The tournament boasts a competitive 14-team field that includes Baylor, Drake, Illinois State, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Missouri-Kansas City, Nebraska, North Texas, Northern Iowa, Notre Dame, Oral Roberts, Southwest Missouri State and Wichita State.
The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two 18-hole rounds Monday starting at 8:00 a.m., and a final round Tuesday.
Turtle Point is a 6,950-yard, par 72 course situated in Kiawah Island.
Prior to a one-year hiatus in 2001, the host Jayhawks won the Kansas Invitational in 2000 by 31 strokes. Baylor last competed in the Kansas Invitational in the fall of 1998 when the team finished seventh.
The Bears have finished in the top five in each of their last 11 regular season tournaments.
In Baylor's last outing of the fall, the Bears finished 5th at the Kiawah Island Invitational in Charleston, SC. The team was led by junior Adam Meyer who earned his third career top-five finish.
